Ed has been performing professionally for the past thirty-six years, and in that time has been a highly sought-after trombonist, as well as an accomplished composer and arranger, an experienced and award-winning educator, a knowledgeable and efficient engineer, and a unique and successful producer.

 

Born and raised on Long Island, Ed’s trombone playing brought him to the attention of many throughout his formative years, studying with the late renowned trombonist Donny Heald.  After receiving national recognition in high school, Ed continued to perform under the inimitable Dave Lalama, all the while furthering his studies in music education, composition, arranging, and music technology and recording.

 

Ed has been intimately involved with every facet of the music world, and eagerly shares his talent, time, energy, and effort in many musical milieu.  Ed is a very active performer in the New York music scene, and is currently highlighted in many cover bands, tribute acts, and jazz ensembles in the tri-state area, most recently playing trombone in the Phil Collins tribute PseudoSsudio, the Chicago tribute The Chicago Experience, the 70's tribute 45 RPM, the Billy Joel tributes Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot and Captain Jack, and the Neil Diamond tribute One Hot Night (where Ed plays tenor saxophone}, in addition to being a regular fixture on stage with the club date bands The Projekt and Code Bleu.  Ed has also recently composed a number of compositions and arrangements for wind ensemble, in addition to having his original work featured in the WB’s hottest online super-heroine webtoon series, Gotham Girls.

 

Ed is currently enjoying his twenty-ninth year directing wind ensemble and jazz band in the Lynbrook Public Schools, and still resides on Long Island with his choir director wife, his trombonist son, and his flautist daughter.
